Exercise Your Body and Your Mind!

I've said it once and I'll say it again. It's not all about your physical fitness!

Being mentally fit is critical to ensuring you give yourself the best opportunity to succeed in whatever you're doing in life. With secure mental health, we give ourselves the chance to be the best we can be, both in a professional and personal sense.

In today's blog post, we're going to look at some of the exercises you can do to keep your mind active!

These are some of the best brain exercises in the world and they have been proven to work especially well with seniors!

Without further ado, let's get into them!

Best brain exercises for seniors

Word Puzzles

Simple and effective, word puzzles are a great way to get our minds active. Not only do word puzzles make us think about ourselves, they also make us think about those we are going against. As such, our brain becomes extremely engaged in the activity we are completing.

Bingo

Who doesn't love a game of bingo! Once again, this is an exercise that allows seniors to have some fun while exercising your brain. Depending on how competitive you are, you'll either take it seriously or you won't. No matter the case, everyone has to agree that bingo is a great way to get you thinking proactively once again.

Sudoku

It's a logic game that involves problem solving and looking for number patterns. In essence, it's a game that is built for wise seniors! The great thing about modern day Sudoku is that you can find yourself a level that suits your ability. If you're a beginner, you can try easier puzzles, while if you're an expert, you can find some of the hardest puzzles in magazines, on the internet and through phone applications.

Jigzaw Puzzles

They may be for the young, but they're also for the old! I myself love a Jigzaw puzzle, especially the ones of fantastic locations that consist of supreme photography. Why not find one from your local newsagency and get back involved today!

Chess

The ultimate game of mental strength and willpower. That is what my teachers use to say to me. Chess is a great game that makes you think about the other person more than it makes you think about yourself.

Learning a new language

You're never too old to try new things! That's what we believe at Super Seniors Fitness. Learning a language although sometimes difficult, can be tremendous fun for anyone looking for a new challenge. With the internet these days, learning a language is easier than ever. Why not do a quick google search, find an app that is highly recommended and give this unusual brain exercise technique a go!
